The spare parts have been at home for a week now. Finally found the time to carry out the planned work. In short, my oil pan is leaking/seeping, and I noticed the presence of oil buildup around the throttle body.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to measure crankcase pressure (maybe someone can advise?), but I thought the cause might be a clogged PCV valve. I read that this can happen when the oil separator in the valve cover gets clogged. I bought some spark plug tube seals, a PCV valve, a valve cover gasket, carburetor cleaner, and Profam 1000. Here's what came of it (photos attached).
Anyway, after I opened the cover, I was filled with dismay. I didn't see heavy deposits on the camshafts. But there is varnish, which I plan to deal with simply by changing the oil more frequently. However, the valve cover itself is completely covered in deposits. I can't even imagine where they came from in such quantity.
For cleaning, I used Profam 1000 and carburetor cleaner. In the end, I liked the Profam; it removes carbon deposits in about 30 seconds. However, because of the large amount of deposits, I had to spend several hours scrubbing. After finishing the job, I rinsed everything thoroughly with water.
The old PCV valve blew air in both directions. But the ball inside rattled very faintly/dully compared to the new one. Well, that's about it. Next up is changing the oil in the manual transmission. By the way, here are photos of the parts and the part numbers.
